Why Is Changing So Hard?

Lasting behavior change is not an overnight process! There’s a whole series of steps you need to take to increase your pros and decrease your cons of changing before you’re truly ready to take action in a way that doesn’t leave you spinning your wheels and feeling like a failure.

No one hires a coach because they don’t know what to do. You know you should be lifting weights and eating more protein and getting more sleep. But what you don’t know is how to get from where you are now to where you “should” be and more specifically, how to stay there.

I bet you’ve made some of these changes to your life before for a short period of time. You’ve successfully hit the gym for a week or two, meal prepped for a month, or strung together a handful of 8 hour nights. But it never felt easy and eventually something came up that made you throw in the towel… and that’s probably happened more than once. You felt like a failure because the habits didn’t click into place after a couple of weeks and were left feeling demoralized.

Reality check?

True behavior change takes 6 months!

And I promise you there is no way to force yourself into lasting change sooner. More often than not when you jump into a new behavior, you’re resolving to take action before you’re actually ready to. There’s a whole series of steps you need to take to increase your pros and decrease your cons of changing before you’re truly ready to take action in a way that doesn’t leave you spinning your wheels and feeling like a failure. And that’s why as a coach I can’t promise you a total life and body transformation in 12 weeks. Is my coaching style a bit “slower” than what you might be expecting? Yes, it probably is. And that’s not a bad thing… in fact it’s very intentional! It’s my job to make sure we’ve prepared you for all of the challenges associated with changing because yes, changing your life is hard!
